Spread The Word!

Planning is well under way. We are still working to nail down the most suitable location. Our first selection was double booked, but no worries, Houston is an awesome city and we will find just the right spot.

If you’re planning on attending, please add a logo to your blog or web site. We have uploaded several files to chose from to the wiki. If you can, write a post about your experience or what you expect from the event in your blog, we would appreciate it. If you write content about the event, please let us know so we can create a feed for everyone to subscribe to. If you’re a broker in Houston and would like us to visit one of your sales meetings to talk about REBCH, just let us know and one of the Houston area volunteers will be happy to come by and share a few minutes.

Thanks to all of the sponsors we have thus far, but We still need more. Every sponsor is at the same level of $250. So step up and be an even bigger part of the event before I start calling and bugging people :)

I am excited that so many people are coming in from across the country. Drew Meyers, Jeff Turner, Joel Burslem, Brad Andersohn, Rich Jacoboson, Lani and Benn Rosales, Matt Fagioli and many other luminaries from the RE.net will be at REBCH. In fact, if you’re traveling to the event from outside of the Houston area, please let me know in the comments of this post so we can build a list. This will be probably the only opportunity you will have to attend an event of this caliber free of charge (Until the next Barcamp), so be sure to block out 10/22 on your calendars and start chatting up the event to anyone that you think can benefit from it!

Cheers!

Barcamp Houston 3 Wrap Up

Stephanie Edwards Musa, Matt Kelly and I had the opportunity to go to the 3rd Houston Barcamp yesterday at the Houston Technology Center. It was a superb event. Thanks to Marc Nathan of HTC and Josh Tabin and the other volunteers for putting it together. We learned a great deal from their deep experience with the BarCamp format. I had a chance to make contact with some great folks from the tech community and sit in on some great sessions. I had to leave a little early to get home and get caught up before traveling this week. As luck would have it, my friend Michael Garfield, The High Tech Texan was doing his regular Saturday radio program. I called in while driving back up I-45 (hands free of course ;) and Michael put me right on the radio. I had a chance to send out shouts to the Houston BarCamp and spoke a little about what REBarcamp is and our goals. Got a great plug for the URL and some props from Michael. Hopefully he will be able to make it to the event. We should have our location nailed down later this week. We did a scouting visit Friday night and I am really digging the location we found. I think they are just as excited as we are to have the event there. As soon as we make a comittment we’ll get it posted here and on the Wiki. Cheers ~MP
